VIDEO: International Bible Training College Matriculates 152 Students In Maiden Matriculation

History was made on Saturday as the Port Harcourt Campus of the International Bible Training College (IBTC) affiliated to Anchor University, Lagos matriculated 152 students into Diploma and Certificate programmes in its maiden matriculation ceremony which was held at the Deeper Life Camp Ground, Rumuodara, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Present at the epoch making event were church leaders and dignitaries from all walks of life including the Vice-Chancellor of Anchor University, Professor Afolayan Joseph O. duly represented by his deputy, Professor Johnson Oladele Fatokun.

Pastor Chike Onwuasoanya, the IBTC Chairman of Port Harcourt Campus Governing Board, encouraged matriculating students to study in order to show themselves approved to God, which is the motto of the college.

“I advise you to take your studies seriously and get into deeper Christian experiences with Christ which is the only way to have a solid foundation that will help you to fulfill Christ’s given mandate.

“In the world today, there is a general break down in human standards and values.  Only through sound, well-rounded theological training will future church leaders be able to gain the knowledge necessary to wisely discern truth from falsehood, Pastor Onwuasoanya noted.

The college Rector, Pastor (Dr.) Offiong Okon Asukwo, in a brief speech said, “At this matriculation ceremony, the IBTC will formally admit 152 students into Diploma and Certificate programmes.

“With the unwavering support and commitment of our able Proprietor, the Management Board Members and entire staff of IBTC, our hopes are very high that we shall continue to turn out the end time vibrant and militant ministers of the gospel who will fear nothing but sin by taking this gospel of Christ from shore to shore and village to village.

“This is the very essence of theological training which if done in God’s own way empowers the church, enables the believers with divers opportunities to serve the Lord, envisions the apostles, envelopes the prophets, energizes the evangelists, encourages the pastors to feed the flock as shepherds, and equips the teaching ministers with the basic tools for Biblical exegesis.”

David Abel Ichie, a matriculated student of the college campus, said, “The school is not a circular institution, it is meant for those who are called to win souls in this end time.  As student of this great institution, God has given me the vision to change the world and that is why we are here.

“I have a great expectation that when we come out from this institution, by the grace of God, we will not fail God, we will not fail our society and we will not fail the nation at large”, Icihe said.

Emmanuel Johnson, another matriculated student expressed happiness for being part of students who matriculated today.  I promise to study hard as it will help me in future to excel in my ministry”.
