Following Tottenham Hotspurs’ stunning comeback against Ajax in the UEFA Champions League semi finals on Thursday , May 8, 2019 fans of the club around the world celebrated widely and in style.
One of the club’s biggest fans is Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo and he couldn’t hide his joy.
In a video making rounds on social media, the West African country is seen shouting and jubilating.

The English club completed a shocking comeback, delivering the second stunning result in the Champions League semifinal round in two days.
With stoppage time nearly complete, Lucas Moura fielded a desperate ball into the box and slid Tottenham’s third goal into the net for a hat trick and the decisive goal in a 3-2 win over Dutch side Ajax.
It also turned the aggregate score in Tottenham’s favor, 3-3, with the crucial advantage in away goals.
In April 2017, Akufo-Addo revealed that his support for Spurs began in the 1960s.
“It was from my childhood in England. I saw the great double side, the side of Danny Blanchflower, Johnny White and Duncan McNair. It was a great football side; they won my heart from there,” Akufo-Addo said on revealed.
Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960–61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners’ Cup. In 1967, Spurs won the FA Cup for a third time in the 1960s.
