Cholera Kills Five In Abeokuta, Ogun State

The Permanent Secretary at the state Ministry of Health, Adesanya Ayinde, has confirmed on Friday at the ministry in the state capital the death of five people in Ogun State following the outbreak of cholera in some parts of Abeokuta.

Recall that five deaths earlier disclosed by Ayinde formed part of the reported 12 cases in the state.

He added that proactive steps have been taken by the state government to curb the situation.

The permanent secretary called on residents to continue to maintain personal and environmental hygiene to reduce avoidable deaths as the government would soon clamp down on homes without proper toilet facilities.
