Ahoada East LGA Chairman, Hon. Eke Vows To Deliver On Campaign Promises

The Ahoada East Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Ben Eke has vowed to live up to his campaign promises to deliver effective services to the people as his cardinal objective.

The chairman made this known during a media briefing with Ahoada East Social Media Crew at his residence recently and as contained in a statement signed by Elder Abubor Chiemele ThankGod, Head, Media and Publicity, Ahoada East Local Government Council.

He said his administration is currently embarking on meaningful multifarious projects ranging from infrastructures to human capital development.

He noted that despite the obvious financial constraints, his administration will not deviate from the promises made to the people and advised beneficiaries to be grateful and dedicate themselves to activities that will move the local government forward.

He also hinted that the ongoing renovation of Ahoada Industrial Unit and clearing of the modern stadium will be completed before the end of this year.

Responding to questions on the water project currently going on in the 13 wards of Ahoada East, the chairman said he had given his word to provide the people with portable water, recognizing the fact that the people suffer from water pollution as a result of Oil and Gas exploration in the area, stressing that water is an essential commodity to man.

He charged those handling the projects to meet up with approved specification, adding he would extend the development gesture to other communities after finishing the first phase.

Hon. Eke also said that his administration will not do anything the law does not empower a local government council to do.

In the area of human empowerment, the chairman said he has over a hundred and forty five appointees and about a hundred sanitation marshals in the council’s payroll under his watch.

However, the councillors of wards 7 and 3, Hon. Abule Aguiyi and Hon Innocent Okirigwe thanked the chairman for giving them the needed support and enablement to put smiles on the faces of their constituents.

They pledged not to compromise on the standard and specification of the project, assuring that they will deliver at the soonest possible time.

In wards 4 and 13, the projects are about 95% completed and ready for use, while those of wards 3, 6 and 10  are ongoing at an encouraging pace.

Residents of the wards expressed happiness over the projects, saying that they will do everything possible to protect the facilities.

The Ahoada East Social Media Crew visited wards 3, 4, 7, 10 and13 while  wards 1, 2 , 5 , 6 , 8, 9, 11 and 12 will  be visited at a later date.
